If you already suffer from acne or you are acne-prone, then there are several factors in your lifestyle that can make you breakout. Makeup can actually affect individuals who are acne-prone. For example, if you do not wash your makeup brushes or if your sponge is heavily contaminated, it can actually serve as a reservoir for bacteria to grow and this can cause you to develop an acne flare. This is very often a secondary bacterial infection affecting acne-prone individuals known as gram negative folliculitis. If you notice pustules on your skin, then it is likely that you have a secondary bacterial infection other than acne itself.
